“I get motivated every time I think about where I came from, how blessed I am to wake up health to do what I love, and inspire the youth from my community.”
That community is Koalack, Senegal and that Blackness Wear athlete is Fatou Pouye.
She’s in her first year as a forward with the Spanish professional basketball team, Ardois. Fatou has also recently been named to the Senegalese national team.
Her basketball career in the US began at Western Kentucky University, where she started her entire senior season. Fatou went on to Duquesne for a graduate degree and another year of eligibility in the NCAA. She was named NCAA Player of the Week several times, as well as Player of the Week in the A10 over the course of her college career.
“I believe in Blackness Wear. It’s time to bring to life our commitment to our people and communities.”
